Upcoming events for this course

The Basic Life Support (BLS) course, typically conducted over half a day, complies with the latest UK Resuscitation Council guidelines 2021. The aim of Basic Life Support training is to provide the learner with the skills, knowledge and understanding in the provision of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and of the safe use and management of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

To ensure high-quality instruction and ample hands-on practice, we limit class sizes to a maximum of 12 participants per instructor, though larger groups can be accommodated with additional instructors. Our hands-on approach helps attendees develop life-saving skills, including CPR, safe defibrillation and what to do if someone is choking.

Throughout the course, learners are continuously assessed through practical demonstrations and question-and-answer sessions, ensuring they are well-prepared to respond effectively, and with confidence, in emergency situations.

For anyone working within healthcare, we also offer accredited Basic Life Support (BLS) Level 2 (VTQ), as well as a Basic Life Support & AED for Healthcare Professionals Level 2 (VTQ) courses. These courses are aligned to the Skills for Health UK Core Skills Training Framework or UK-CSTF and endorsed by Skills for Care. This training, ideal for nurses, care workers or medical professionals, covers the Basic Life Support skills as listed below as well as healthcare variations on paediatric CPR. The courses have been independently certified as conforming to universally accepted Continuous Professional Development (CPD) guidelines.

On successful completion of a Basic Life Support course, attendees will receive a Basic Life Support certificate which is valid for one year.  To renew, a further Basic Life Support course must be attended.
