The Immediate Life Support course aligns with the Skills for Health UK Core Skills Training Framework (UK-CSTF). The aim is to provide a higher level of theory and practical training for healthcare personnel in immediate life support (BLS/CPR/AED) and medical emergencies as required by the GDC.
Immediate Life Support training is essential for healthcare professionals and those working in high-risk environments that need advanced skills beyond basic life support. This comprehensive course, typically conducted over one full day, complies with the latest UK Resuscitation Council guidelines 2021 and meets the requirements set by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
To ensure high-quality instruction and ample hands-on practice, we limit class sizes to a maximum of 12 participants per instructor. Our intensive, practical approach helps attendees develop advanced life-saving skills, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), simple airway management, safe defibrillation, and the administration of emergency medications.
Throughout the course, learners are continuously assessed through scenario-based simulations, practical demonstrations, and in-depth discussions. This ensures they are well-prepared to respond effectively, and with confidence, in complex emergency situations.
For anyone working within dentistry, we also offer a Dental Immediate Life Support (ILS) Level 3 (VTQ) course. This certified CPD (6-hours) course meets the criteria for the General Dental Council’s development outcomes C, and includes medical emergencies as set out by the GDC in the dental practice.
On successful completion of the course, attendees will receive an accredited Immediate Life Support (ILS) Level 3 (VTQ) certificate which is valid for one year. To renew this certificate, a further Immediate Life Support course must be attended.
