Basic Life Support and AED for Healthcare Professionals Level 2 (VTQ)

Jun 9 @ 9:15 am - 12:15 pm
A healthcare professional learning how to place a casualty in the recovery position during Basic Life Support (BLS) training.

The Basic Life Support and AED for Healthcare Professionals Level 2 (VTQ) course is designed for healthcare professionals who may be required to respond to cardiac and respiratory emergencies as part of their role. This includes nurses, dentists, care workers, healthcare assistants, and other medical and care professionals.

The aim of this training is to provide you with the skills, knowledge and understanding required to deliver effective Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and to safely use and manage an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) in a healthcare setting. You will develop the confidence to act promptly and appropriately in a life-threatening emergency.

This course covers Basic Life Support, with healthcare-specific considerations, and includes variations in paediatric CPR relevant to clinical and care environments. Training is delivered through a combination of clear theory and hands-on practical scenarios, allowing you to practise essential skills under the guidance of an experienced instructor.

The course is delivered in line with current Resuscitation Council UK Guidelines, as well as the UK Core Skills Training Framework (UK-CSTF) for Basic Life Support, and is endorsed by Skills for Care. This ensures the training meets nationally recognised clinical and professional standards.

The Basic Life Support & AED for Healthcare Professionals Level 2 (VTQ) course has been independently certified as conforming to universally accepted Continuous Professional Development (CPD) guidelines. On successful completion, you will receive a Basic Life Support & AED for Healthcare Professionals Level 2 (VTQ) certificate, which is valid for one year.

To ensure high-quality learning and plenty of hands-on practice, spaces on this course are limited, allowing you to fully engage with the practical elements and ask questions relevant to your role.
