The Outdoor Pursuits First Aid 8-Hour Level 3 (VTQ) course is suitable for people who might need to respond to accidents, injuries and illnesses that they could come across when out in rural and remote areas where professional emergency assistance is not easily accessible.
The Outdoor Pursuits First Aid 8-Hour course is an ideal first aid course for outdoor activity instructors, teachers or leaders operating in locations with close access to further support. This includes: activity instructors, sports coaches, teachers, forest school leaders and anyone who enjoys hiking, cycling and climbing in the great outdoors. The Outdoor Pursuits First Aid 8-Hour course is aligned with the Institute for Outdoor Learning (IOL) Statement of Good Practice on Outdoor First Aid at Band 2.
Spaces on the Outdoor Pursuits First Aid course are limited to a maximum of 12 people. A hands-on approach ensures that attendees learn first aid skills and have the confidence to use them in a real life situation.
For those attendees working in an environment where there is a need to also hold a Workplace First Aid qualification, this can be incorporated into the curriculum. If you would like to also gain an Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) certificate as well, there is an additional fee of £15 per attendee for this optional qualification. Please request this at the time of booking.
On successful completion of the course, you will receive a certified Outdoor Pursuits First Aid 8-Hour Level 3 (VTQ) certificate which is valid for three years.
