£170.00This course will be delivered across two Saturdays in November – the 9th & 23rd.
The Outdoor Pursuits First Aid 16-Hour Level 3 (VTQ) course is suitable for people who might need to respond to a wide range of accidents, injuries and illnesses that they could come across when out in rural and remote areas where professional emergency assistance is not easily accessible.
The Outdoor Pursuits 16-Hour First Aid course is an ideal first aid course for outdoor activity instructors, teachers or leaders and outdoor learning specialists operating in situations where a number of hazards may be present or help may be up to a few hours away. This includes: water sports instructors and sailing, kayaking and canoeing leaders, as well as mountain leaders, outdoor pursuits instructors and students, SCUBA instructors, Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) assessors, bush craft instructors, forest school leaders and anyone who enjoys hiking, cycling and climbing in the great outdoors. The Outdoor Pursuits First Aid 16-Hour course is aligned with the Institute for Outdoor Learning (IOL) Statement of Good Practice on Outdoor First Aid at Band 3.
Spaces on the Outdoor Pursuits First Aid course are limited to a maximum of 12 people. A hands-on approach ensures that attendees learn first aid skills and have the confidence to use them in a real life situation.
For those attendees working in an environment where there is a need to also hold a Workplace First Aid, an Emergency Paediatric First Aid, or a Forest Schools First Aid (16-Hour) qualification, these can be incorporated into the curriculum. If you would like to gain an Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW), an Emergency Paediatric First Aid (EPFA) or a Forest Schools First Aid (16-Hour) qualification as well, there is an additional fee of £15 per attendee. Please request this at the time of booking.
On successful completion of the course, attendees will receive a certified Outdoor Pursuits First Aid 16-Hour Level 3 (VTQ) certificate which is valid for three years.
